This project develops imagination and motor skills. It's simple and is suitable for children as young as 3 years old.
Materials:
1. A sheet of dark colored construction paper precut into 2-3 wide strips.
2. A sheet of green paper.
3. Liquid glue.
4. Crayons or markers (optional).
5. Yellow cutout circle and a piece of paper (optional).

Ask the child to tear strips of dark-colored paper into quite large pieces. |

|
|
Then show him how to form these pieces of paper into balls (children like messing around with paper). |
|
|
|

Ask the child to arrange these wads of paper into a caterpillar on the green paper. Help if needed. Show him how to dip each piece into the glue and attach it to the green paper. In the end, ask him to draw whiskers and legs. You can also make a sun in the corner (look at the sun project). |
