Play-Doh or Clay Art Project for Kids: Easter Basket

This project develops imagination and motor skills. It is suitable for children 4-5 years old.

Materials:

1. Play-Doh, or homemade play dough, or clay
2. Food coloring or tempera paint

Ask your child to make a play dough ball. Flatten it against the table to make a flat circle. This is a bottom of a basket. Ask your child to make a few long Play Dough "snakes." Make two braids from them as shown below.

Attach the braids to the bottom like the sides of a basket as shown.

Let the basket dry for a few days and then let your child color it with tempera. Also, you can use colored Play Dough from the very beginning. After drying this makes a nice Easter basket or a candy dish.
