1. Sunshine swimming school
Sunshine swimming school is a good choice for beginners. There are no more than 3 kids per group and their instructors are great with children. But the pool is not that big and there are always issues with parking, especially in the afternoon.

3. Edith Ball Pool
There are number of swimming pools that are located in Tucson parks. One of the newest is Edith Ball Pool (across from the Zoo). It is covered with a huge tent and that makes it much more enjoyable in summer. This pool is heated year round.

4. SAAA Swim Team
There is quite a number of SAAA Swim Teams in Tucson area. Of course your child has to be a swimmer already in order to join the team. You can learn more at

7. Private instructor
You can invite a private instructor to your own pool. They usually give both private and group lessons. For some kids it's the perfect choice and you don't have to drive to the school and sit there for 30 min. under the burning sun. Here are a couple of instructors to choose from:
